About The armor:

Gusogu flag Edo period. This armor includes the box and mounting structure. Nice samurai armor from the 18-19th century. This armor is a good example from mid Edo period armor with all matching elements. Include a Flag original from Edo period with the flag bearer. Beautiful maedate with Ikeda clan mon. Ikeda clan was a Japanese clan that claimed descent from Minamoto no Yorimitsu (948-1021) of the Seiwa Genji. Minamoto no Yasumasa, the fourth generation descending from Yorimitsu, and younger brother of Minamoto no Yorimasa (1104-1180), was the first to call himself ‘Ikeda’.

In the Edo period, several of the clan’s branches were daimyō families, most notably of the Tottori Domain and Okayama Domain. Takamasa Ikeda, former head of the Okayama Ikeda house was the husband of Atsuko Ikeda, fourth daughter of Emperor Shōwa.

The armor is in very good condition given its age and will certainly attract the attention of all those who contemplate it.

There is a very ancient object with some damage or repairs, something more than understandable in very old pieces made for combat. Due to the delicacy of continuous assembly and disassembly, returns are not allowed on old armor.
